Scott County Community of Promise
Scott County was selected as an Iowa Community of Promise and was presented with a certificate and an America’s Promise wagon on behalf of Iowa’s Promise and the Iowa Collaboration for Youth Development in December, 2007.

This designation will enable Scott County to build effective youth development strategies, identify and strengthen the assets for children and youth in their community, and become a part of a statewide network of like-minded communities.

With a mission to “build community capacity to successfully respond to the needs of at-risk children and to serve as a catalyst for developing safe communities and healthy youth and families,” Scott County’s Community of Promise is specifically committed to ensuring that all children, from birth onward, are healthy and successful.

In cooperation with local organizations and community members, Scott County Kids is working to promote the Five Promises by developing and implementing meaningful and engaging school-based extra-curricular activities and proactively addressing all dimensions of pediatric health.
