Pottawattamie County Community of Promise
Selected as Iowa’s 11th Community of Promise, Pottawattamie County was presented with a certificate and an America’s Promise wagon on behalf of Iowa’s Promise and the Iowa Collaboration for Youth Development in the fall of 2007.

Through collaborations with non-profit, youth, education, and faith-based partners, “Promise Partners, Pottawattamie County Alliance for Youth” is committed to promoting the Five Promises and upholding their vision that “all Pottawattamie children and youth will be healthy and safe, have marketable skills and opportunities to serve, and will be engaged in positive activities with caring adults.”

Pottawattamie County is specifically committed to early childhood initiatives and is actively working to ensure that every child, beginning at birth, will be healthy and successful. Placing an emphasis on early identification and intervention, Promise Partners offers a wide variety of programs to support a healthy start and future for all children.

This designation will further enable Pottawattamie County to build effective youth development strategies, identify and strengthen the assets for children and youth in their community, and become a part of a statewide network of like-minded communities.
