Healthy Henry County Community of Promise
Selected as an Iowa Community of Promise, Henry County was presented with a certificate and an America’s Promise wagon on behalf of Iowa’s Promise and the Iowa Collaboration for Youth Development in February of 2007.
This designation will allow Henry County to build effective youth development strategies, identify and strengthen the assets for children and youth in their community, and become a part of a statewide network of like-minded communities.
With a mission to “work together to make Henry County a better place to live, work, and raise a family,” Healthy Henry County Communities: Community of Promise is specifically committed to increasing the number of youth who feel connected to their families, schools, communities and other caring adults, increasing the quality of life for all children through prevention, education, and intervention, and ensuring that all youth are prepared for productive adulthood roles and have increased opportunities to serve.
Under the leadership of a diverse Board of Directors and Executive Committee, Henry County’s Community of Promise is actively working to promote the Five Promises through partnership and collaboration with local groups and organizations.
